Outpatient Infusion Services in a Comfortable Clinical Setting

In addition to iron infusions, The Iron Infusion Clinic also provides selected specialist infusion therapies in a monitored outpatient setting across our Queensland clinics.

Our team has extensive experience in infusion medicine through many years of haematology and medical infusion practice. All infusions are provided under appropriate medical or nurse practitioner oversight, with patient safety and comfort as our priority.

We work closely with your treating specialist or GP to help make ongoing infusion treatments simpler and more convenient.

Treatments We Currently Provide

Aclasta® (Zoledronic Acid)

Aclasta is an intravenous medication commonly used for:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Bone thinning (low bone density)
  • Prevention of fractures
  • Other bone health conditions

Many patients are referred to us by endocrinologists, rheumatologists, GPs, and other specialists for convenient outpatient treatment.

Our clinic team has significant experience with zoledronic acid (Aclasta) infusions and monitoring.

Vyepti® (Eptinezumab)

Vyepti is an infusion treatment used for migraine prevention.

We provide administration and monitoring of Vyepti infusions in collaboration with your neurologist or prescribing specialist in a calm outpatient environment.

Selected Biological Therapies

We may also be able to provide administration of selected biologic medications on a case-by-case basis.

Suitability depends on:

  • The medication being prescribed
  • Monitoring requirements
  • Funding arrangements
  • Clinical appropriateness for outpatient administration

If you have been prescribed a biologic therapy and are looking for an infusion provider, our team is happy to discuss whether we may be able to assist.

Referral Process

Accessing treatment at The Iron Infusion Clinic is straightforward.

Step 1 — Referral

A referral is required from your GP or specialist.  Patients are also welcome to contact our clinic directly if they already have a referral.

Step 2 — Appointment Booking

Our team will contact you to arrange a suitable appointment time and explain any preparation required before your infusion.

Step 3 — Bring Your Medication

Patients will generally need to bring their prescribed medication to the appointment.  Your referring doctor and our clinic team will advise you if this applies to your treatment.

Step 4 — Infusion Appointment

At your appointment you will meet with one of our haematologists or nurse practitioners before treatment.

Infusion times and observation periods vary depending on the medication being administered.  Most patients should allow approximately 1–2 hours in total for their appointment.
