In addition to intravenous iron therapy, The Iron Infusion Clinic also provides administration and monitoring of selected specialist infusion therapies in an outpatient setting.

Our team has extensive experience in infusion medicine through longstanding haematology and medical infusion practice across Queensland.

Current services include:

• Aclasta® (Zoledronic Acid) – We provide outpatient zoledronic acid infusions for osteoporosis and other bone health indications, including referrals from endocrinologists, general practitioners, rheumatologists, and other specialists.
• Vyepti® (Eptinezumab) – We provide infusion administration for patients receiving Vyepti therapy for migraine management in collaboration with the treating neurologist or prescribing specialist.
• Selected Biological Therapies – We may also be able to provide administration of selected biologic therapies on a case-by-case basis following discussion with the treating specialist regarding suitability, protocols, monitoring requirements, and funding arrangements.

Referral Process

The process for access to The Iron Infusion Clinic is as follows;

1. Referral from GP or specialist
2. The Iron Infusion Clinic will make contact with the patient (patients are also welcome to contact us to make an appointment directly if they have a referral).
3. Patient will need to bring the prescribed medication to their appointment – consultation time with the haematologist or nurse practitioner is around 20 mins, infusion time and post-infusion observation will vary depending on the drug. Patients should allow an 1-2 hours in in total.
