Fees for our service

The iron infusion service is available to patients without private health insurance. As the service is provided on an outpatient basis, no hospital admission fee is payable.
  • The minimum Medicare is $51.25 for the consultation with our haematologist or iron expert nurse practitioner as well as the iron infusion (rebate is more for patients who have reached their Medicare safety net).  Note: patients must have a valid Medicare card to be eligible for this rebate.
  • A further concession/pensioner discount is also available.
  • Patients are required to fill a prescription for their iron before attending. This is paid directly to the dispensing pharmacy. The cost is currently around $7.70 for health care care holders, or up to $36 for those without a concession (price may vary between pharmacies)
Referred and non-referred patients

Patients do not require a referral for this service, however referrals are welcomed from all referring practitioners.
